Asia Society Conversations: Ang Mundo ng Mga Nilalang
VIEW EVENT DETAILSFor the month of October, as we celebrate the traditions of Pangangaluluwa and Undas, join us as we explore different worlds in Philippine literature and delve into the world of mythological creatures—aswang, tiyanak, and manananggal abound!
Hear from Yvette Tan, author of Waking the Dead, Kaba, and All the Birds, and Paolo Herras, author of the Strange Natives Series and Sumpa. Our speakers will be sharing about how Philippine mythology and folklore have influenced the stories they have written and the characters they have created. They will also talk about how local mythologies have shaped the Filipino culture and how creatures such as the aswang, tiyanak, and manananggal are still relevant in contemporary times.
Learn about Philippine mythology and folklore integrated into literature and celebrate Filipino culture with us at #ASConversations!
