LOCATION: Mumbai
Asia Society is a global, not-for-profit organisation that navigates shared futures for Asia and the world across policy, business, sustainability, technology, education and arts and culture. It is a global network of 16 centres that works to foster insight, encourage engagement, elevate regional voices, inform and educate new audiences, and addresses complex – and where necessary – contentious challenges. The India Centre focuses on modern South Asia and has delivered over 800 programmes (including panel discussions, roundtables, galas and other strategic initiatives) since its inception, establishing itself as a leading public education platform and an important forum for the discussion of regional and global affairs.
Summary:
The Asia Society India Centre is currently seeking a highly motivated, organized, and creative individual to join its communications and social media team. The candidate should have strong interpersonal, writing, and design skills, and a passion for social media content creation. Discipline is no bar, but the candidate must be able to research, ideate and synthesise insights into crisp content around business, gender, the economy, technology, culture and contemporary art. The candidate must be curious, eager to learn, and open to working in a small, collaborative and cohesive team.
This role reports to the senior communications officer.
Responsibilities:
• Work with the senior communications officer to research, conceptualise, plan and execute Asia Society India Centre’s communications and social media. This includes but is not limited to designing creatives and other visual material for Asia Society India Centre, coordinating with other members of the team to maintain the organisation’s social media calendar and data analytics.
• Support effective administration of Asia Society India Centre’s communications strategy by maintaining Asia Society India Centre’s communications database, website and social media.
• Help research and develop social media plans that show the range of Asia Society India Centre’s programming, themes and global network.
• Edit short videos for Asia Society India Centre’s social media and website.
• Track and evaluate social media and communications against key success metrics with an eye toward continuous improvement, including audience engagement, visibility, branding, etc.

Requirements:
The applicant must possess:
• 0-2 years of work experience in social media or design roles, ideally within a non-profit organisation; demonstrated knowledge of and interest in the landscape of the South Asian region is imperative;
• Demonstrable experience editing video content;
• Bachelor’s Degree in the humanities or social sciences is compulsory (degrees in Economics, History, Political Science, Sociology, Business preferred).
• Excellent research, organizational, written, verbal and computer skills;
• Ability to work with a wide range of people and personalities in a fast-paced, multi-cultural environment;
• Work independently and be self-motivated about deadlines and project management;
• Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and follow through on details;
• Flexibility regarding schedule is a must as many Asia Society India Centre programs are in the evenings or on weekends;
• Proficiency in Zoom, Canva and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required. Knowledge of other design and video editing software preferred.
This is a full-time position in Mumbai.
