Asia Society, 100K Strong Issue Report on Education and US-China Relations
On September 30, in partnership with Asia Society, the 100,000 Strong Foundation will issue a report entitled: “Strengthening US-China Relations, One Student at a Time – Perspectives from Leaders in the Field.”
The report will feature essays from a diverse group of leaders active in US-China relations, including Asia Society President and CEO Josette Sheeran’s contribution calling on the US and China to enhance people-to-people exchanges to improve global food security. Other contributors include, Stephen Schwarzman, Chairman and CEO of Blackstone; Muhtar Kent, Chairman and CEO of Coca-Cola; Hao Ping, Vice Minister of Education PRC; Rich Larsen and Charles Boustany, co-chairs of the House of Representatives US-China Working Group; Richard Stengel, Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs; and Norman Francis, President of Xavier University of Louisiana, and more. Each essay charts a course for this critical relationship and highlights promising efforts that will help shape a shared future.
Asia Society President and CEO Josette Sheeran will attend the report launch event in Washington, DC at Johns Hopkins SAIS and participate in a panel discussion with Kurt Campbell, Chairman and CEO, The Asia Group; David M. Lampton, Director of China Studies, Johns Hopkins SAIS; Evan Medeiros, Senior Director for Asian Affairs, National Security Council; Carola McGiffert, President, 100,000 Strong Foundation; and Johnny Taylor, President, Thurgood Marshall College Fund.
